The Coaching Hub Podcast

What does a coach do?

Written by Ruth Kudzi, MCC | Jan 11, 2021 9:52:00 PM

In today's episode, we're exploring what a coach does. We know that the word coach is pretty widely spread, and is used really for a whole range of interventions.

In an unregulated industry, I want to talk about what the  ICF version of a coach does. The ICF is the International Coaching Federation, and they are the biggest coaching accreditation body in the world, and probably the most respected. There are other coaching accreditation bodies available, I do have to mention that. We're going to look at it from a pure coaching perspective.

If you are looking to work with somebody who is a qualified and accredited coach, you need to look out for a few things. Let's dive in!

Here are the highlights from this episode:

{2:45} Finding out the training a coach has completed

{3:25} What to expect from pure coaching

{5:27} The importance of having a coach skilled enough to go under the surface

{10:29} How pure coaching differs from other interventions
